Our client is a security risk management company with a growing reputation for excellence in the maritime and land environments.

It now seeks to appoint a paralegal/Contracts Manager. This position requires close work with the expanding commercial team and the successful candidate will have responsibility for managing contract versions, assisting with negotiations on terms and amendments and completing contract schedules. Typically this includes liaising with the commercial team, drafting contracts and providing contracts negotiation advice, liaising with stakeholders regarding contract amendments. There will be occasional requirement for research on weapons licencing and regulations, as well as more general commercial legal advice to the Senior Management Team.
The role involves a degree of ‘on duty’ time where early and late working hours are sometimes required to ensure it provides its clients with the very highest standards of support and availability.

The following skills and experience are essential for this role:

§ Strong background in commercial legal advice; general exposure to services agreements and general commercial agreements

§ Law degree or Graduate Diploma in Law required as a minimum

§ Excellent attention to detail and written communication skills

§ A minimum of one year’s experience as Paralegal/Contracts Manager

§ The individual will be highly organized and able to prioritise tasks effectively

§ Sensitivity to business ethics and corporate good governance

§ Experience in the use of standard form contracts and commercial shipping desirable

Knowledge of the maritime security industry is desirable but not essential as on-the-job training will be provided.
