Job Description:
Our client is one of the UK's largest suppliers of electronic payment solutions. It now wishes to appoint an Interim Senior Legal Counsel for a maternity cover to commence on 1st December 2011. The role is to work directly with in house business clients in preparation and negotiation of contracts for commercial transactions in the UK and abroad.
Main Responsibilities
Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide variety of commercial agreements and cross-border transactions.
Providing legal support for existing agreements and advice for various legal queries/issues pertaining to the business.
Coordinating and assisting the relevant divisions e.g., Tax, Finance, Sales to ensure that the agreements are in compliance with Company policies and regulatory requirements.
Reviewing M&A deals

Managing direct relationships with business clients and external third parties.
Be available to undertake such travel as the Company may require from time to time. (Europe or Asia)
Background
The ideal candidate will be qualified as a Solicitor (or non-UK equivalent) with at least 6 + PQE and trained within private practice. Applicants must have substantial hands-on experience of drafting contracts and ideally experience of Electronic Payments, Financial Services or a related industry.
